GREAT BRITAIN E-SCOOTER CASUALTIES 2023
E-scooter trials are active in 20 regions across Great Britain. In 2023, 1,387 casualties were recorded from 1,292 e-scooter collisions, including six fatalities - all involving e-scooter riders.

Users: 2,648
Trips: 8,352
E-Scooter: 6,730
E-Bikes: 1,622
Lime can add 200 more vehicles. At the end of 2025, the city will review Lime’s program and might consider adding another vendor. Overland Park earned $2,553 from the rides - $0.25 per ride & $500 Administrative Fees.
Mate Bike Partners with Dogus Otomotiv
Doğuş Otomotiv, a major Turkish automotive distributor, has partnered with Danish Mate Bike to distribute electric bicycles in Turkey, expanding its portfolio into the micromobility market alongside luxury vehicles.

St. Albert’s e-scooter program which became permanent in 2023, allows up to 300 scooters.
NYC E-Scooter Program at Risk of Suspension
In 2024, rental scooters in Queens and the Bronx facilitated more than 2m trips.

Bird: 529k trips
Lime, Bird & Veo operate 2k e-scooters, each in these 2 regions.
Despite high ridership, the program faces potential suspension due to safety concerns.
Police Seize 400+ E-Scooters in Sussex, Kent
Sussex and Kent Police have seized over 400 e-scooters in each region, citing lack of licensing and insurance as key issues. Private e-scooters are banned on public roads unless part of council rental trials.
Ather Energy Secures IPO Approval
Ather Energy got SEBI's nod for a $525.5m IPO, including a $362m fresh issue and 22m shares for sale, set for H1 2025. It seeks a $2.5B valuation, up from $1.3B in Aug 2024. FY24 revenue was $204.7m, down 1.7% YoY.
NYC Introduces New E-Bike Charging Docks
NYC DOT's new rules, effective Feb. 1, 2025, will allow installing micromobility battery charging & swapping cabinets on sidewalks at eligible buildings.
Almaty to Relaunch Bike-Sharing System
Almaty, Kazakhstan will relaunch its bike-sharing system in 2025, with 2k electric bicycles, managed by the municipal enterprise Almaty Parking, in the downtown area. Daily bike rides average 1.5k, and the fleet may expand if successful.
BluSmart Launches EV Cab Service in Mumbai
BluSmart launched its EV cab service in Mumbai on January 1, 2025. An invite-only registration allows select users to access premium rides and manage demand as it expands in the city. Currently, BluSmart operates in Delhi NCR & Bengaluru.
Cruze Texas Launches E-Scooters with Docking Stations
Cruze Texas launched a new e-scooter system in downtown Waco with designated racks. The service costs $2 to unlock and 37 cents per minute, with subscriptions available. 6 docking stations are located on private downtown properties.
IM Motors Receives L4 Autonomous Test License
IM Motors, a premium EV brand by SAIC Motor, received a license for L4 autonomous driving road tests in Shanghai. It aims to equip vehicles with L4 capabilities in major Chinese cities by 2025.
Ryde Expands EV Taxi Fleet
Ryde plans to add 1.2k EVs to its Singapore taxi fleet by 2027, with 600 arriving in 2025 and subsequently 300 each in 2026 & 2027. The company has allocated $1m in incentives to encourage drivers to adopt EVs.
Autonomous Vehicles Approved for Beijing City Roads
Beijing passed new rules to promote autonomous driving, effective April 1, 2025, allowing driverless buses and taxis on the city roads. Approved AV’s can apply for trials, with tests underway in 19 Chinese cities for robotaxis and robobuses.
